- Adult stem cell
- Undifferentiated cells in adult tissues that can self-renew and differentiate into specialized cell types within that tissue.
- Mobilization
- The release of stem cells from bone marrow into the bloodstream in response to signaling.
- Homing
- The process by which circulating stem cells are attracted to and enter specific tissues.
- Differentiation
- The process by which a stem cell becomes a specialized cell type.
- Bone marrow
- Tissue inside bones that produces blood cells and harbors hematopoietic stem cells.
